    RockChat Rewind with Joe Milliken.
In May (still trying to find out the exact day… any help?) of 1977, The Steve Miller Band released their tenth studio album on Capitol Records titled “Book Of Dreams.” Recorded at CBS Studios in San Francisco and produced by Steve Miller, “Book Of Dreams” actually consisted of mostly leftover songs from the previous mega-hit record “Fly Like An Eagle.” Yes, “leftover” songs that included such hits as “Jungle Love,” “Jet Airliner” and “Swingtown!”
Along with the “leftover hits,” however, it is the “deep tracks” on this album that make it special. Deep album cuts such as “Winter Time,” “True Fine Love,” “Sacrifice,” “The Stake,” “My Own Space,” and “Babes In The Wood” make this album consistently stellar throughout.
“Book Of Dreams” reached the Top 10 in four countries, including #2 in America, #12 in the UK, and #1 in Canada. It also produced three Top 40 singles including “Jet Airliner” (#8), “Jungle Love” (#23) and “Swingtown” (#17.) The album would go on to sell more than four million copies worldwide.
